If You Were Famous for 24 Hours

Posted on April 2, 2012

This new game “Twitter Fame” is a fascinating concept.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Players link their Twitter account to the game through this Web page.
  2. Each day at noon one person is selected as the winner of the day.
  3. For the next 24 hours everyone who is playing will be set up to automatically follow the winner. Whatever they tweet will appear in every players news feed.
  4. The next day, when a new winner is drawn, the game automatically takes yesterday’s winner out of everyone’s feed and adds the new winner.

What would you do if you won and suddenly had thousands of new followers for 24 hours?

On the site, the game’s creators give this suggestion for winners, “Introduce yourself.  Show us your favorite cat picture.  Plug a charity.  Whatever. However, do not abuse your power.  Be respectful of your new followers and don’t flood them with Tweets.”

It would be an interesting challenge to try to maximize your content to convince people to keep following you after your 24 hours were up.

I would suggest leading with your best content that has the widest demographic appeal and would garner the most engagement.

Kind of like your show everyday right?
