Reduce, Reuse, Recycle… Your Content

If you haven’t already it’s time to start recycling.

No, not your cans and magazines, though you should do that too, I’m talking about your content.

A recent post on Hubspot offered suggestions on how to repackage your content into… even more content.

1) Turn Show Content Into Blog Posts: If you are a blogger, take the hottest topic from your show and turn it into a blog posting. This is a great place to elaborate on your particular point of view regardless of whether it’s a goofy phone topic about sex toys or the upcoming presidential election. PPM doesn’t count the words on your blog so let loose with more of your personality and opinion.

2) Use Comments as Content: Look closely at what people say when they respond to your blog, Facebook or Twitter posts. That can be a goldmine of new content and ideas or just a great follow-up for your next show.

3) Turn Comments Into Contests: Encourage people to comment by awarding random participants with prizes. It doesn’t even have to be formalized. You can just “like” a post and announce that you are giving that person a prize for taking the time to play along.

This is just the start.

Look at the content you create each day for your show and consider the best way to repackage it so you get the most mileage out of your hard work.
