Facebook or Twitter? Feedback or Attention?

Here’s a nugget I picked up from an article about effective blogging, “blog posts that are shared on Twitter have more page views, while blog posts shared on Facebook have more comments.”

Assuming this logic holds true for more than just blogs it’s worth keeping in mind when you post content for your show.

If you want audience feedback on a subject to use as content or to help guide your approach to a discussion lead with Facebook since it tends to garner more comments.

If you want to call attention to something you are doing lead with a tweet since that drives more views.

Of course, while it’s good to understand the differences in how people consume content on Twitter and Facebook, as shameless self-promoters the best strategy may be to simply use both.
